The Workflow Network is the brain child of Pariah S. Burke. Pariah is a 20-year veteran of graphic design, publishing, illustration, packaging, and prepress who is largely self-taught because, when he started out, PostScript and DTP were a fad and there was no Internet.
After teaching Adobe's Technical Support agents to use Adobe software, and helping them help Adobe customers, Pariah realized that too many people creative professionals don't have easy access to information vital to their designs, their businesses, and their community.
Consequently, after leaving Adobe in early 2004, Pariah refocused his entire career toward the simple goal of empowering, informing, and connecting every creative professional he can possibly reach.
That year, in addition to writing his first book about Adobe Illustrator, Pariah simultaneously launched the Design Weblog, the Magazine Design Weblog, and the Unofficial Photoshop Weblog for Weblogs, Inc., Quark VS InDesign.com on his own, took over management duties of the Yahoo! Forums-based Graphic Designers Resource Group, and his private creative pro training and consulting service, Workflow: Creative. Pariah's Websites were among the first design-related blogs and independently published sites, achieving global popularity among creative pros, and laid the foundation on which many other creative pro blogs and sites would be based. In 2005 he launched Designorati with an international group of writers and editors, followed by GurusUnleashed.com in 2008, and, in 2009 WorkflowFreelance.com, Design Talk Live!, Design Jobs LIVE!, CreativesAre.com, and several others.
The Websites and publications Pariah built soon became so numerous that a simple sidebar listing of "check out my other sites!" wouldn't cut it any more. Thus the Workflow Network was founded.
